The High Court has approved a €3.5 million interim settlement for a woman who allegedly suffered brain damage during her birth 24 years ago.

The woman, who cannot be named as she is a ward of court, sued the guardians and directors of the Coombe Lying-in Hospital, Dublin where she was born in May 1998.

Emma Morrison sued the operators of the Horseshow House in Ballsbridge, Dublin, over the incident

A solicitor who suffered a “nasty fracture” to her ankle when she fell on slippery decking in the beer garden of a pub in Ballsbridge, Dublin, has been awarded €105,000 by the High Court.

Emma Morrison (43), originally from Cork but living in the Liberties, Dublin, sued the Madigan Group Trading Co Unlimited, operators of the Horseshow House, where the accident happened during a work-organised barbeque at the pub in June 2017.
