Cyclist sues council alleging serious injuries caused when bike struck road defect

A cyclist is suing Dublin City Council over injuries allegedly sustained when his bike struck a road defect in the city. The council says there was no misfeasance on its part and if there was a road defect this was normal wear and tear.

The case highlights the ongoing issue of road maintenance and the duty of care that local authorities owe to cyclists and other road users.
