Woman settles case over alleged birth injuries for €31m

A young woman who sued over the circumstances of her birth at a Limerick maternity hospital has settled her High Court action for €31 million. The HSE reached the settlement without admission of liability.

The woman, who has cerebral palsy and a brain injury, was represented in the case which is one of the largest personal injury settlements in the history of the Irish courts.
